Cats Don't Sleep

The band name taken from a caption under a magazine photo of Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie entering an after - hours night club ("These cats don't sleep...").
Noted music journalist C.J. Berkman believes Randy "Is without a doubt, one of the 5 best guitar players in the South TX area ... He's a Pro ... doesn't drown out the band ... The whole band works as a unit." Randy has his own creed for creating a novel guitar style - Don't listen to other guitar players. "I've never been a listener of other guitar players ... (they) forgot the basics of the blues - chords."
The combination of Randy's pithy string strumming and sweet soul - stirring singing and formidable players like Jack Barber on bass, Rocky Morales on sax, Al Gomez on trumpet and Urban Urbano on drums, guarantees an enjoyable show. Believe me, this band can play just about any requested song note for note, but Randy prefers 'Bloozano' (Chicano playing the blues) mix it with a dash of San Antonio Tex-Mex, and create something quite unique.
