Work Shop

Learn to play the guitar music you love, even though you can't read music and have litte hands and short fingers.

Mini Performances

Myself or with one or two of my musicians performing original Chicano blues.

Lectures

How to work full time in the music business and be clean and sober. (I am a recovering alcoholic and have not consumed alcohol or drugs in 12 years.)

Miscellaneous

Preserving Chicano culture through music and story telling. In addition to my music, I have written a collection of short stories relating to Chicano culture (El Cucui ... Horror Stories of my Childhood), and can be included in any workshop.

What makes these programs important to me!

Many stereotypes exist in the music industry about Mexican American music. The industry expects Mexican american artists to perform narrowly defined works stemming from Tejano, Conjunto or other traditional Mexican music that have stood still over time. There is a whole other genre of music that calls San Antonio, Texas home: Chicano Blues. This music captures both the tradition and change in the Chicano community. It reflects my Chicano roots, as well as my love for the blues. With 40 plus years in the music business, I have learned much about performing and I believe I have a voice uniquely suited to speak to generations of people comfortably coexisting in the past and the future.
